The Cairn Centre is a charity thrift shop offering quality second-hand furniture, clothing and household goods for sale to the public.

Its NU-2-U service offers the collection and distribution of donated goods. The joint services raise funds to assist in dealing with poverty and homelessness throughout Fife

Volunteers - May & Nancy

From A Voluteer's Point of View

We are both volunteers at the Cairn Centre and have been involved from the start. When the shop opened it was a challenge and we both enjoy our Friday's.

Every week we find new things to sell and make the shop attractive to customers.

One of the things we like being involved with is the homeless clients - giving them your time and a start in life that some people tend to shun. We make up starter packs for them when they are housed. It gives us great satisfaction when they settle in and are thankful for the help. Just for them to say "thank you" is all we need and for them to make things work out for themselves.

We hope to continue to give our time and enjoy our work for a long time to come.
